Jefferson Parish public schools and its administrative offices will open Friday (Jan. 5), officials announced Thursday afternoon. Heating systems were inspected at the schools Thursday and found to be in working order, officials said in a statement.
Superintendent Joseph announced that all JPPSS schools and administrative buildings will be closed on Thursday, January 4th due to several consecutive days of freezing temperatures in Jefferson Parish that have taxed the heating systems in its school buildings. At The Parish track meet: The Meisler 800 meter relay team: Aliyah Warner, Kandace Wallace, Katelyn Wallace, and Kashawn Smith won silver medals. Katelyn Wallace also took home three individual gold medals when she became the parish champion in: the long jump, 100 meter dash, and 200 meter dash.
